My Calvin is now 9 years old. I can't believe it! How much he has changed and grown over the years, it's just amazing. He spent a good part of his first three years of life CRYING! He was so frustrated, and he couldn't communicate with us. It wasn't until we found out that he was on the autistic spectrum that things calmed down. I don't know that anything changed, our actions or his actions, but things got better. Calvin has taught me patience, patience, patience. I still have a LONG way to go, but we work on it every day.Calvin has come so far! He started school with 2 years of special ed preschool with speech. He is now mainstream and in3rd grade. We still have problems "playing" the school game, but it is really amazing how far he's come.
His current loves are Star Wars/Indiana Jones Lego, scouts, and piano.

Calvin is so creative and original. You can't help but smile. And you never know what he will come up with next. He is always asking us weird questions. Here is a typical conversation:
"Which, Mommy?"
"I'm not a witch."
"Mommy?"
"Yes, Calvin"
"What if you had 100 million dollars, and didn't have to pay taxes, what would you buy with it?"
OR
"What if Star Wars Lego guys were real and we were in the game?"
OR
"What if oranges tasted like strawberries and strawberries tasted like bananas and..."
I LOVE his questions! Sure it's like we have a three year old sometimes. :) but, I love them still.
I love you Calvin! Hope you have the BEST birthday ever!!

Calvin is very lucky to have you as his mother. On bad days remember that.
Good words.
