My Silly Sunshine!

Ten years ago today, I was woken up at 6:00am by a pain I had never felt before! I wasn't sure if it actually was labor or not. I was 9 days overdue, so I was pretty sure I was never going to have this baby just be forever pregnant. So I waited it out. I timed the contractions. I wasn't concerned at all. I figured that it wouldn't happen anytime soon, so I sent Shawn off to his half day of work on that Saturday. Well noon came and I was pretty sure it was happening today. But Shawn would be home soon, it was just a half day. Well 1 1/2 hours later he comes home to me at the door with suitcase in hand!! (I guess he had no idea I had been having contractions all morning) SO we dashed to the hospital and after 14 hours of labor we had a beautiful baby girl. Mississippi Raye Jackson! She is our silly sunshine! She is our loopy, happy, super friendly, huggable little girl. I love this picture because it is so her! Distracted by something, but always looking at things in her "rose colored glasses". If you look close enough you can even see her one brown eye and one green eye.

She doesn't know this, but tomorrow she is going to see Hannah Montana! (SQUEAL!!!) You might hear her squeal some time tonight, when we give her the tickets for her birthday.

Halloween decorations

I have to start by saying, I would do nothing if it weren't for Cyndi! THANK YOU CYNDI!!!

She found these way cute ideas on FamilyFun for Halloween decorations. Yesterday we made these Spirit Jugs. The kids had so much fun drawing the faces. And last week we did these Flower Pot Pumpkins. So much fun and so easy!!

My kids dressed themselve! Can you tell?

And they were so proud! This is how they looked a few Saturdays ago. Missi thought she was so pretty in her two different colored socks, orange bracelets, and neon green shirt. Owen LOVES to cowboy boots with shorts! And Calvin is dressed up as one of his "Car Wars" guys. (k! He loves Star Wars and is going to make a movie LIKE it some day. It cannot be the same so he has named it Car Wars) He is probably "Muke Tioxer" or "Darth Mater" or something! ;) But he has to be totally dressed in black and , you can't see it, but he is wearing one black glove. Ya know from when his hand was cut off. But the were just too cute, I had to take a picture! ENJOY!

A celebration

Jim Henson and all things Muppet are a major part of our world around here. So on September 24th we had to celebrate Jim Henson's birthday. It wasn't much of a celebration, but we did have Ernie cupcakes! Owen wanted "women" cake mix (really it's lemon, he just can't say his "l" sound). So we added a bit of red food coloring until the batter was orange. Then we used chocolate frosting, vanilla frosting colored red, and cut mini marshmallows in half. It was really fun and the kids had some very interesting Ernie's!
