To Whom It May Concern
Herewith I Officially Resign As An Adult. I Have Decided To Take On The Responsibilities Of An Eight Year Old Again. I Want To Go To Mcdonald's And Think It's A Four Star Restaurant. I Want To Sail Stick Boats On A Muddy Puddle After The Rain. I Want To Play Touch.
I Want To Go Back To A Time When Smarties Were More Valuable Than Money Because You Could Eat Them. I Want To Lie Under A Huge Shady Tree With My Mates On A Hot Summer Day And Dream While Chewing On A Blade Of Grass.
I Want To Return To A Time When Life Was Simple And Knowledge Was Limited To Colours, Multiplication Tables And Old Mac Donald Had A Farm. It Didn't Matter That There Were Things You Didn't Know. So What! All You Knew Was How To Be Happy Because You Were Blissfully Unaware Of Things That Would Upset You Or Get You Worrying - Like Zits.
I Want To Believe Again That Life Is Good And Fair And Everyone Is Honest And Genuine. I Want To Believe Anything Is Possible.
I Want To Live Simply Again, I Don't Want To Have To Deal With Computer Crashes, Mountains Of Paperwork, Depressing News, More Days In The Month Than The Total In My Bank Account, Doctors' Bills, Gossip, Illness And The Loss Of Loved Ones.
I Want To Believe Again In The Power Of A Smile, Hugs, A Friendly Word, The Truth As It Was In The Beginning. Justice, Peace, Dreams, Imagination, People Without Their Masks And Questionable Motives. I Want To Bake Mudcakes.
So Here Are My "chequebook", My Car Keys, My Credit Cards And Everything Else That Represents "grown-up". Herewith I Officially Resign From Adulthood. If You'd Like To Discuss This Issue Or Whatever Else, You'll Have To Chase Me Because ..........."touch! You Ca-a-a-n't Catch Me!"
Cyndi, this is mostly for you! I figure you'll love it!
(Thanks Tina! Way too cute!)

I love this idea!
My FABULOUS aunt Lucy has a just as FABULOUS idea!
How great is that! If you have an extra yucky or boring job around the house, wear a sexy apron! It will give you the lift you need to finish the job. I'm gonna have to get me a sexy apron.
Check her out!

I was in Time Out for a whole afternoon...

and I LOVED every minute of it!!!
Cyndi and I woke up WAY too early a few Saturday's ago and drive to Logan for a Time Out. But it was so FABULOUS! Hillary Weeks was the host. John Bytheway, Abe Mills, Laurel Christensen (the best speaker), and John Hilton III were the speakers. And Hilary Weeks, Cherie Call, Jenny Frogley, and Abe Mills all sang for us.

This is us while we were waiting for it to start. When we got there they gave us a bag of goodies. My favorite was a bag of tissues that said... "It was a 'six tissue' day-I loved it!" It was so true!!
(I'm sorry but I am going to try and breeze through and just jot down my favorite points.)

If you look really close... you can see John Bytheway. He was the first reason why we went. We LOVE his talks. He speaks mostly for the youth, but I'm pretty sure that's the level I'm on anyway. So, I had to go see him. He spoke on the YW values. And he knows the YW theme as good as anyone in the YW's I know! I was impressed. He started by saying when something bad happens to you, usually you ask, why does this happen to me. Well, because of the YW theme "We are daughters of our Heavenly Father who loves us and we love Him." He asked how would that statement change the question you ask or your thoughts? He said God has a micro plan for you in the Macro plan of salvation. I thought that was pretty cool.
Divine Nature: he asked, Did you look in the mirror and worry more about how your body looked or your spirit? And how we are soooo many generations away from Adam & Eve but we are only one generation away from our Father in Heaven. That was pretty cool also.
Individual Worth:
"the least worth individual, is worth worlds." (can't remember who said that!)
I am God's child and the Earth is just his hanywork. We are more important.
Knowledge: Why do we work so hard on things we can't take with us?
=Character, intelligence, and relationships are all things we can take with us.
Choice and Accountability: You can't pick up one end of the stick without picking up the other.
Alma 30- Satan wants you to think that there are no consequences. Don't make a "Kori-horrible" decision. Funny, huh!
Hilary Weeks sang and spoke to us. She reminded us to listen for God's answers after we pray. Take a second and sit there quietly, don't just jump up and go on with your day. And that we can hear better after we have read our scriptures. And that we shouldn't worry what others think of us. But we should worry how they feel about themselves when they are around us. When you make others feel good, you feel good.
Cherie Call then sand and spoke: "There are times when you are going to look for someone to make it easier for you. And sometimes that person will have to be you."

And then we went to lunch and had some super yummy grub! The meals were catered by he Lion House, YUMMY!

So after we were done with lunch we wondered around and I bought a cd. Just waiting around till it was going to start again. We wondered over to the bathrooms. Well, since this was a Time Out for"women" they found it necessary to convert one of the mens bathrooms into a ladies room. When we got there the ladies line was longer so we went to the men's room. Well, guess who we saw when we got in the bathroom, Hilary Weeks! We had hoped to get a picture of us with her, so why not in the men's room! ;) She was very gracious to say yes. And kinda surprised that no one had asked her before for a picture with her in the men's room... I have to say that was the silliest moment of our day!

After lunch it was just too fabulous! We hard some more singers and speakers. We were really impressed with Laurel Christensen. She was an excellent speaker we had never heard before.
- God has always known me.
- Prayer is critical!
- The spirit speaketh truth and lieth not
- I might call myself "the girl who isn't _____ enough". But what would Heavenly Father call me? "Wise daughter", "trusted one", "Gifted Daughter"?
- He has a name for you and He knows who He sent you here to be.
- What if you really believed you were who God knows you to be.
- She had us say to our neighbors "You have no idea who you are sitting next to!"
- She had a mom and daughter come up to the stage and we all gave them a standing ovation! People need more standing ovations!!
After some more singing (which was all so fabulous). John Hilton III spoke. He was so very funny! Like a funny little brother. I will alway be grateful to him for teaching us about the "akward turtle". Too funny! His talk was geared mostly to the girls, but it was still fabulous.
So after the Time Out was over, we weren't quite ready to be out of Time Out! We figured we still needed to "think about what we had done". ;) So we played in Logan for a bit longer.

And so we had to take silly pictures with Wendy hair! I am a little upset with Cyndi for not sending me her Wendy picture along with all the others, but what can ya do! ;)
So that was our day! A glorious day without husbands or children. I do think all mommies should have a time out on a regular basis!!

My little man
I am a week late on this, butmy baby started kindergarten!
Isn't he so cute! He was so ready and confidant for his 1st day. He walked right in and was ready to go. I always figured I would be the one to have a hard time with it. I would go home and cry until I had to get him 3 hours later. But nope, I was fine. I think because he was so ready it helped me be ready. I know that he will do great and LOVE every second of it. And he has! If you know O, you know that he is my grouch!! Always has been and unfortunately always will be. *sigh* This summer we would go all these places; the zoo, the aviary, the candy factory, parks, and even Lagoon. And at the end of the day he would tell me what a rotten, horrible day he had. (I knew he had fun he just won't admit it.) But every day after school he tells me he had the best day ever and how fun his day was. (Maybe it was just that his controlling mom wasn't there... HEY! LOL.) But he has done great! He even got a "caught you being good" ticket on his second day!
And now the update on Missi & Calvin. *bigger sigh* Let me start by saying they are very happy children!! They are so sweet and cute and (again) happy. Really you would think not a care in the world. Especially not cares like school work or anything like that!
Missi has teacher woes again! Mr Manning was there for the 1st day and hasn't been back since. They say he'll be back, just not when. In the meantime, she has a "guest teacher". He's no ordinary substitute, he's better than that! Anyway, I don't care for him much and he doesn't "get" my Mississippi. He seems to just (barely) tolerate her. But, Missi is enjoying school while I am waiting patiently for Mr Manning's return! (for the moment)
Calvin wanted his picture taken when O was getting his 1st day pictures. The sky was a little too bright for Calvin. I LOVE the face he pulled!
On the 2nd or 3rd day of school I asked Mrs. Weston how Calvin did that day. She said: "Calvin was being Calvin today". I loved her response. She gets Calvin, even though he may frustrate her. Remember his realization he had on the first day of school? Well, he remembers it some days and others he just doesn't care. I have told him that if he has one sheet (or no homework) he can play Star Wars Lego for 30 minutes after his jobs. That seems to work the best, right now. With Calvin I have learned the one thing NEVER works! And never the same thing twice in a row. He sure keeps us on our toes! *sigh* Oh, Calvin is learning cursive this year. His cursive seems to be better than his print. He enjoyed it the first week but hasn't loved it as much the second. That blasted G and E!
But overall, the first two weeks of school have been ok. We still spend way too much time on school work at home. But it's been better the in years past. We haven't had as many 4 hours of homework nights, but now we need to figure out how to get 30 minutes of reading in and work on Missi & Calvin's Faith in God/ Articles of Faith memorization.
How does anyone fit it all in???
