Sassy Apron Swap

My Auntie Lucy started this FABULOUS Sassy Apron Swap. And, as I have mentioned, I love aprons! So I joined! This is my first swap. I am very happy to announce that it is in the mail and before schedule!! Hurrah! I am VERY good at procrastinating and arriving late. So this is a huge accomplishment for me.

Right before Lucy announced the swap, I had found this tasty green fabric for just too cheap to leave at the store. I knew it needed to be an apron! And when the theme for the swap was "Spring", it was settled! I had to use it. And now what apron... Well a few weeks ago I took the kids to the library and this book caught my eye.
I had to check it out. #46 the Miriam wraparound Skirt was my inspiration. I went to the local thrift store and picked out a pair of jeans with some fabulous fading. I was able to make two aprons with the pants. This morning I sent off my favorite of the two. I am hoping that my swap partner likes it. I have to fret in typical Angelic fashion! It was a fun adventure! I can't wait for the next project AND I can't wait for my apron in the mail!!

I want this onsie!!

I found this over at punkster. How fun is this, but really, $29???
"When we prepare our hearts and minds by immersing ourselves in the scriptures, by feasting upon the words of Christ, the way opens before us. We know all things we are to do to accomplish His work. As we go to the scriptures, the Holy Ghost is able to speak to us. Ideas flow into our minds, we see more clearly the will of the Lord, and we are strengthened. Our testimony of the scriptures is increased, and our testimony of the importance of taking the children to the scriptures increases as well"
(Cheryl C. Lant, "Feast upon the Words of Christ,” open house address, Mar. 2006).

Clothes Pin Dolls & Aprons

This Christmas, I had 4 five year old girls to give gifts to. So what could I do? Make aprons of course!! But you know, that is really not enough, is it? So, we add clothes pin dolls... There that's enough! I used this FABULOUS, little retro aprons for children pattern. I modified the pocket to fit the dollies. I think it turned out great.

Unfortunately I didn't get pictures of the aprons before I gave them as gifts, so my fabulous SIL Cyndi took pictures of the one I gave her daughter.

She helped me out SO much this Christmas, she also dressed these adorable dollies. Aren't they GREAT!
