So yaw'll know Owen is my favorite, right?? (no, I don't really have a favorite, but this is the joke). Well he might just be the death of me! This is an excerpt from an IM I sent to Shawn tonight. He's on a business trip to Seattle until Friday late...
"And Owen caused a scene (a BIG scene) at the library parking lot. First he wouldn't come in. Fine. I told him kids die in cars from getting to hot and I hope you choose to come in with us. Well he didn't. And Missi stayed in the library visiting with my dad. So Henry & I went back to the car, assuming Missi would come shortly. Well nope. So... I had to put Henry in his car seat and PULL Owen out of the back of the van kicking and screaming. When I finally got him out he was growling I hate you. So I just stood there telling him I love him (all the while I would love to drop him on his nog). People were watching to see if I was abusing my child. YES, I was "that" mom. I tried to put him in the stroller (because he was out of control) and I could then hold Henry. Nope, I couldn't constrain him. So Henry went in the stroller (not easy to do with one hand), and remember, Owen is still kicking and screaming. Finally got in the library, got Missi and went back to the van.
Oh, and all this... because I wouldn't go back home to get him different shoes. He took his shoes off in the car after school. Then we went to piano and straight to the library. It was just gonna be a quick trip while Calvin was in piano. But because I wouldn't get him different shoes and I made him get out of the car, drama ensued."
So right or wrong... I have no idea!! I am glad I was able to keep my temper the whole time. Even though I wanted to drop him on his nog! By the time we got home he was realizing how he had treated me and was willing to help and listen. but... Also, I have about all the love & logic books on cd on hold at the library! If Jim Fay can't help, no one can, right. ;)
I just had to vent. Thanks for listening. I am now gonna go watch mind numbing television to decompress!

Sounds like fun! Sure am glad I only have one and he can't talk back to me yet.
Love Jim Fay! I have them on cd if you want them on your iPod as well.
I think we've all been "that" mom. But your fabulous Angelic!!!
That is so funny, It's nice to know that boys can be over dramatic as well as the girls. I am so "that" mom, and been told that I am mean and that she hates me. But it soon passes, for a moment. Good Luck, your awesome!
Wow, that's ciaos!
Been there so many times that when I see someone elses kid making a scene in the parking lot I smile in sisterhood!
What a murderous day--did you get yourself some chocolate??? that's what I want to know. I am way impressed that you didn't scream at him or hurt him.
P.S. My favorite child book is "Easy to Love, Difficult to Discipline: The 7 Basic Skills for Turning Conflict into Cooperation" by Becky A. Bailey --It helped me deal with the part of the situation that I can control, which is myself. That sounds really dumb, but it really helped me so much more than the Love & Logic books
