It's great to be eight!

Calvin turned 8 on Wednesday. Tonight was his big family party and we decided to have an upside down and backwards party. It was a blast! This "thank you" card was the invite. We started the party with cake and ice cream & sang happy birthday ("you to birthday happy" hurt our heads too much to sing!), then we did presents ,then games, and ended the party with dinner. We played pin the donkey on the tail and a mixed up version of musical chairs. You start like normal, but no one gets out! You just keep taking chairs away. So in the end you have all the kids on one chair! They had so much fun and it really (surprisingly) worked out well! The only problem with a backwards party is it really threw me off! I have just figured out the flow of a regular party, so I'm not stressed or forgetting things. But switch it around and I get all messed up! But it all went off without a hitch and if I ever get a second I will post the pictures!

I also have a new niece I have got to post pictures of!!! John & Penny do not find out the sex of their baby's until they are born and Penny was so sure she was having another boy, so I just went along with that. Well, it was such a surprise to hear that the baby was a girl! But I am so happy that they did have a girl! She is a cutie! Shawn & I went to see her yesterday while the kids were at the babysitting co-op. We were just going to stop in for a sec and then go and run errands for the party. Well, we ended up staying the whole evening and then was crazy running errands WAY too late last night! Oh well! It was worth it to cuddle with little Isabella Demery!

Anyway, I will post picts soon! LOTS to do this week! Wish me luck that I can get it done...
Tootles!

What a great idea for a party! You are very brave, lol (actually, I think you're brave for hosting one at all!) Thanks for your comment on my blog today, I really appreciated it.
