On Sunday was our Activity Days Recognition Night. We had a "shine" theme. And I wanted to do something for the girls to make it a little more special. So I cut 2x4's into 5" blocks. Painted them pastel versions of the primary colors and put shine on them. I think they turned out really cute! I was nervous for a moment because it looked like all the girls wanted pink! It of course all worked out in the end. It was a lovely evening!

And the second project is my favorite! St. Patrick's Day! I love holidays, and St. Patrick's Day is high on the list of favorites. So I have been playing. I of course need one for me (and 2 others for family) so why did I need to make 7 total?? Oh because I am a mad vinyl cutter! I always think I'll see them on eBay or somewhere, but 5 days before the holiday?? Silly me! I'm still gonna try and see how it goes. Anyway, here are some more of my sillies!

AND... Sunday my little O turns the big "05"! So to top off my madness, we are having a huge birthday party at our tiny, little house with both sides of the family! Please tell me I'm not crazy and I can do this! ?? we'll see! I wanted to post the final draft of the invite and my favorite picture from our many leprechaun shoots. ENJOY!

So Angelic what is a vinyl cutter?
Aunt Jeanne
Jeanne, a vinyl cutter is a machine that cuts vinyl! The letter's on those blocks are vinyl and my machine cuts them out from the roll of vinyl I have. Here is a link to a place that sells mine..

I am sure you will have to copy/paste the link. I will also link the word vinyl cutter to the site.
The vinyl cutters are very popular here in Utah, I just don't know how common they are out in the real world!
hi,
i was just in utah on vacation and i am very interested in the vinyl words you guys do there. i am in texas and thinking about doing some myself. is it hard to get started?
cje,
Once you get a vinyl cutter, it's super easy! I was able to find my vinyl cutter on ebay and it was half the price of the new one. The deal isn't always that good, but it is possible. It should come with the software too. Really the only problem I have had is that the cutter doesn't like to talk to my mac. So I have had my techy husband work his magic and it's working great. I buy my vinyl locally, but I know that you can buy it online. It's Oracal Vinyl #631 or #651 series. The deal I got had blades for life (pretty much) so I have never bought them, but all that you need can really be purchased at signwarehouse.com.
I am going to post a video on the process. So watch for that.
It has certainly been a fun toy! I hope you get one, Good Luck!
